About Us

About Us

The Meguro Museum of Art,Tokyo, opened in a corner of Meguro Citizens Center, which is located in a verdant area of Tokyo, in November, 1987. We aim to become an integral part of the community, providing people with a space where they can enjoy works of art. Tokyo boasts of having many museums, great and small. We may be a small one in size, but we certainly are a "window" open to the limitless universe of imagination and sensibility.
We exhibit the works of Japanese modern and contemporary artists as well as the works of artists from other countries, showing visitors a variety of artistic expression on an international scale. We are proud to introduce our workshop activities which are intended to combine exhibitions and visitor experiences by directing our attention to the beauty in our everyday lives and to the materials and techniques of works of art. We also take pride in our Citizens Gallery, which is available for rent by the public.

The workshop room, which has a variety of functions, is located next to the entrance hall and the spacious Citizens Gallery is situated in another building.
