The designer, OKA Hideyuki, left an enormous footprint in the world of “design” together with the word “TSUTSUMU (to wrap)” as he continued to collect and study traditional Japanese packaging in the dawn of “design” in Japan. Through OKA’s collection housed in our museum that portrays his look at the Japanese packaging with natural materials such as wood, bamboo, straw, clay and paper, we introduce the feelings Japanese have given to the deed of “TSUTSUMU” and the beauty of packaging techniques.
